1STAVEMACHINE WELCOMES ARGENTINIAN DIRECTING VET NICO KASAKOFF TO ITS ROSTER

From the release:

Production company 1stAveMachine continues attracting top South American talent with the addition of Argentinian director Nico Kasakoff to its roster.

A 20-year advertising and filmmaking veteran, Kasakoff joins 1stAve after spending several years in his native Buenos Aires, where he first joined up with hometown agency Agulla & Baccetti as an art director before taking his spot in the director’s chair for clients ranging from Ford to Stella Artois to Nike. Now having signed to 1stAveMachine, Kasakoff hopes to utilize his knowledge of advertising, directing, graphic design and even art history at a production company that’s perfectly suited to his tastes and skillset.

“I was always curious about 1stAve’s body of work, as it consistently shows unique personality and a lot of love for the craft,” he says. “What seemed initially like stylistic differences between us, eventually transformed in my mind into opportunities to complement each other, to develop a richer point of view through collaboration. I’m thrilled and honored with this new partnership and am very excited about the possibilities it opens on the horizon.”

During his career, Kasakoff has not only helmed commercial projects for brands, but ads for MTV, music videos and short films, garnering D&AD Yellow Pencils along with Cannes Gold, Silver and Bronze Lions in the process. Kasakoff’s two decades’ worth of industry experience coupled with his versatility – among other assets – ultimately drew the attention of 1stAveMachine.

Reflecting on Kasakoff’s portfolio, EP/Partner Sam Penfield adds, “What I appreciate most about Nico’s filmmaking is the same quality that I appreciate in him as a person. His work reveals his intelligence and thoughtfulness. He has moved from broad comedy and mixed media work to storytelling that is more grounded and even more poignant for its restraint.”
