Vincent Lin and Matthew D’Amato Relaunch Valiant Pictures with Full Directing Roster

From the release:

Five years ago, rising director and producer Vincent Lin teamed-up with accomplished producer Matthew D’Amato to launch Valiant Pictures as a means for producing short films and music videos, which later grew to include branded content and commercials.

As their success built up over the years, the pair began exploring the possibilities of expanding their roster to include other emerging and established directors. Today, Lin and D’Amato are proudly announcing Valiant’s official relaunch with a dramatically expanded roster.

While continuing to develop entertainment projects like their original feature set to star Matt McGorry of “How to Get Away with Murder” and “Orange is the New Black,” Lin and D’Amato are deeply committed to commercial storytelling. Briefly, Lin is a 2005 NYU Film/TV graduate widely known for producing top comedic spots for major brands – and as a writer, director and producer, his growing filmography spans award-winning shorts, music videos and highly innovative spots and branded content.

Working together with D’Amato, a LaGuardia High School and Full Sail graduate, projects they’ve produced have been licensed to Amazon, Apple, Fandor, HBO, Hulu, and NBC Universal, among many others. Together, their most recent commercial clients include Denny’s, Facebook, L.L.Bean, and Toyota.

. Masood Ahmed, who has many digital campaigns in the pipeline, including ones for Facebook and LIM College that are being produced by Valiant and award-winning digital creative shop Purple, Rock, Scissors.

. Jess dela Merced, a NYU MFA Film graduate and IFP Emerging Filmmaker touring the film festival circuit with the award-winning short “Wait ’til the Wolves Make Nice” that debuted earlier this year at SXSW, which she is developing as a full-length feature.

. Good Content, the veteran directing team comprised of renowned DP and director Jay Feather plus 2015 Primetime Emmy Award-winning producer and director Stephanie Laing.

. Justin Meredith, recipient of multiple design industry awards, previous principal of Thornberg & Forester and bona fide animation/design industry all-star.

. Philippe Tremblay-Berberi, who is currently directing branded content projects for many top-tier brands – and documentary projects for and with leading recording artists and stars including Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize-winning writer, director, and actor Xavier Dolan.

. Troy Word, the global fashion industry icon, photographer, and director behind a new Lovesac campaign also being produced by Valiant.

“2015 has been a great year for us,” D’Amato began, “There’s a lot of momentum around every one of our multitalented directors, so it’s a perfect time to expand our resources and pursue more of the opportunities coming our way.”

“Valiant is a company built on the talent of our roster,” Lin added, “New doors keep opening every day, and being able to team great talent with the right creative concepts to deliver top-notch, memorable, and effective campaigns is extremely exciting for us.”

Valiant has also brought on Vivian Collins as the company’s head of sales. Lin, D’Amato, and Collins all met several years ago while working together at commercial production company Smuggler. With Collins onboard, Valiant aims to increase its commercial and branded content opportunities and forge collaborations of the highest caliber.

Collins entered the industry supporting global sales for Smuggler and later, headed up sales for integrated production company Ghost Pepper. Through those experiences, she built and managed relationships with agency executives all across America, bolstering talent through screenings and film events. “With my experience nurturing, supporting, and promoting creative collaborations, I’m looking forward to building and fostering the talented directors behind Valiant’s expanded roster,” she said.
