A Rebel With A Cause

“Rebel With A Cause” is a little project with a whole lot of heart. The short outlines the socio-environmental impact of chasing the newest clothing trends, or rather the “ecological backpack” of that new shirt you just picked up. Written and directed by Kristian Labusga as part of his final thesis at Stuttgart Media University. Watch the film at www.rebel-with-a-cause.de

Really poor imitation of Knife paty’s ‘What Barry says’, not even close.
I think its obvious that the are trying to do something similar. but.. couldnt they try harder.

While I’m not overly impressed with the execution, I think the comparisons with Knife Party aren’t really necessary, it’s like saying you can’t educate or attempt to make a statement with a piece of motion graphics because somebody has done it in the past.

I think its pretty cool, but on a whole, I’m well sick of these things.

Some ridiculous comments here. What makes it a poor imitation? What makes it an imitation any way? They are trying to inform you about something, by using motion graphics and a voice over. Does that make it an imitation? Also, when you want to inform people, it is nothing more than logical to use text and info graphics, and that is what they’re doing here. And yes, that’s what Simon Robson did as well, with his What Barry Says piece.
Besides that, do not forget that this is a piece made by students, so it doesn’t have to be perfect yet. Although I think that they actually did a good job on the animation and design. Also, it is an interesting message that they’re bringing across.

Maybe the haters are just upset because they have a huge t-shirt collection.

I saw this the other night while browsing through another blog and thought it was a really nice piece, nice sense of motion with the elements and camera moves. Its funny to see worse - recycled work over and over again that gets praised, and then a little gem like this get put down.
