Meredith Machial (formerly of Sway Studio) joins Resident as the company’s new Executive Producer.  Meredith has an extensive background in VFX, CGI, motion graphics, editorial and audio and a proven track record in business development and marketing.

She was most recently Executive Producer and Head of Production at Sway Studio in Culver City, California. Meredith was considering moving to the East Coast when she was recruited by Resident (www.weareresident.com) and quickly won over by the company’s diverse reel.  “I loved the variety of Resident’s work and its integrity: They stay true to their aesthetic and offer true concept-to-completion capabilities,” she says.  “It looked like the right place for me!”

“While Resident has enjoyed great PR it remains a largely undiscovered treasure in many ways,” Meredith observes.  “Resident is ready to be repositioned in the marketplace and make its mark as a serious player.  We plan to establish international representation and forge more partnerships with agencies and directors in what promises to be a busy year ahead.  Once the Resident name gets out the studio’s work will speak for itself.”

During Meredith’s 19-month tenure with Sway Studios she introduced the company to the interactive market with the major Hyundai interactive account and parlayed her extensive knowledge of the field to add interactive accounts for Acura, Ford and Lexus.  She also created a successful print market for Sway and brought in a GMC Terrain CGI spot campaign.

A native of Dallas, Meredith began her career as a Producer/Production Coordinator at Reel FX Creative Studios in that city where she worked on the Disney feature “The Wild;” game cinematics for “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory;” and spots for Mattel and Coors Light.

She supported Reel FX during its merger with Radium in January 2006 and remained with Radium in Santa Monica for eight months as a Business Development/Account Executive.

Meredith comes onboard at Resident with the company at work on the music video “Slick” for British rock band Chew Lips.  “I’m so excited to have joined in the middle of this production which Resident is doing from concept to completion,” she says.  “It’s directed by Resident Creative Director Gregory de Maria and is going to be an amazing video!”
