Behind the Scenes on “Gravity Cat”

Rotating sets are certainly not new (Royal Wedding, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Poltergeist, etc.) but this deployment from director Show Yanagisawa for Sony’s Gravity Rush 2 game updates the technique with a secret weapon: the ginger kitten.

The behind the scenes feature above (with English subtitles), shows off the intricate construction of the set, the various pre-vis strategies, and also offers a peak at the unique onset culture of Japanese productions.

Gravity Rush 2, known in Japan as Gravity Daze 2, is an action-adventure video game developed by SIE Japan Studio and Project Siren, and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4.
