Instant tentacles with this one weird trick!
Like other driven creatives, Kim Taylor (aka kimoni), a freelancer living and working in London, pursues a double life split between commissioned and personal work. In Taylor’s case both incorporate a “mix of digital design (UI/web/device), motion graphics and illustration.”
The self-taught designer/animator describes his latest personal motion piece as: “Partly a surreal, wry comment on advertising, part horror show, this short animation takes you on a dark ride through the corrupted underbelly of the internet. From the nauseatingly garish faux-advert at the very beginning (complete with repulsive talking bear) it aims to mislead and trick the viewer, much like the shamelessly crooked advertising techniques that it references.”
