From the release:
Black Math is thrilled to announce the appointment of Meghan Nelson as Chief Strategy Officer. She joins the design-first studio to direct bold new creative and technological strategies for the future.
Nelson comes to the Black Math executive team from Apple, where she spent the past seven years developing immersive and interactive content for the Apple Vision Pro and leading major cross-functional initiatives for the Vision Products Group. She focused heavily on content strategy for the platform and most recently led AAA third-party partnerships across all content formats.
Prior to Apple, Nelson helped pioneer early augmented reality technologies at Metaio, which was acquired by Apple in 2015. This experience honed her deep expertise in emerging technologies and strategic partnership development.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Black Math at such an inflection point, both for the studio and for the creative industry as a whole,” said Nelson. “We’re entering a new era where design, content, and technology are colliding in powerful new ways. I’m excited to help shape that future, and to build with a team that is as ambitious, curious, and creatively obsessed as I am.”
In her new role, Nelson will work closely with both the executive and creative teams at Black Math, advancing and shaping the studio’s technology practice, with an emphasis on AI, XR, spatial interfaces, and wearable technologies.
“The addition of Meghan to our team sharpens our perspective and brings a strategic lens to how we support increasingly tech-minded clients,” said Evan Fellers, Black Math co-founder and CEO. “Her experience in spatial computing and platform partnerships will help us go deeper into the kinds of conceptual, design-driven work we already love and create.”
Nelson joins Black Math at a defining moment in the industry, where creative technology is now becoming essential for all new and established brands. Black Math has long collaborated on products and prototypes behind the scenes with major tech companies including Meta and Google. This is in addition to their work on global brand campaigns and activations for the likes of Chime, Reebok, Alma, Bai, Yelp, Klayvio, and many others.
Nelson’s arrival at Black Math underscores the studio’s commitment to staying ahead of technological shifts while maintaining an art-first approach. Her perceptive ability to bridge emerging technologies with storytelling and design will be instrumental as clients navigate how their brands appear across next-generation devices and dynamic, three-dimensional environments. With Nelson’s collaboration, Black Math continues to explore creative territories others might overlook, guiding clients through change with the same care and originality that has always defined its work, while positioning itself as a leader in creative brand services.
Co-founder and CCO Jeremy Sahlman added that “Black Math has always been a studio where technologists and artists are one and the same. Meghan embodies that duality and understands how complex delivering great creativity is when the stakes are huge. That perspective is vital as we help shape how our team, and our clients build with AI and immersive platforms.”
