Shane Griffin Named Global Executive Creative Director at Los York Studio
From the release:
Director and visual artist Shane Griffin has joined Los York as a Partner and the Global Creative Director of Los York Studio. Griffin will lead Los York Studio from the New York office, collaborating with both agencies and brands, fostering a collective of artists and multi-disciplinarians, and creating culturally-resonant, technically-masterful, and stylistically-visceral content.
Los York Studio is the mixed-media design and production division of a larger family of enterprises that includes Los York Label, Los York Ideation, Los York Entertainment, and Los York Films, where Shane is represented as a Director.
Griffin has directed films for Apple, Google, Microsoft, Ford, and Adidas, and his work spans a broad range of disciplines from animation and live action, to sculpture and CGI. Shane has worked with Los York before, including on Apple’s Let Your Red Out spot, which is reflective of the type of work Studio will continue to create under Griffin’s leadership.
Griffin comes to Los York after serving as Creative Director at famed VFX studio Method Studios, Head of Motion Design at ManvsMachine, and was also founding partner of creative studio and artist representation agency Sunday Afternoon, based in New York City. He is joined in Studios’ New York office by Garrett Braren, who was recently brought on as the Executive Producer, following stints at 1stAveMachine and LAUNDRY.
Los York Senior Executive Producer Santino Sladavic, who will help Griffin lead Studio, comments: “Ecstatic to have Shane leading the way for Studio. He’s the next generation of creative in this evolving space. He’s more than a commercial director and more than a designer, he is an all-encompassing visual artist whose work makes and sets trends.
Griffin adds: “What drew me to Los York is their core team of artists and their always-elevated aesthetic and design. As long as I’ve known Dex and Seth, it has always been easy for me to share in their vision and meld with their mindsets — we look forward to collaborating on some badass work and sublime storytelling.”
