MOFA director Yianni Warnock leads an all-Australian production team, including CG/VFX studio Atmos and ARC Edit, in a race across the outback with this ambitious charmer for a new CommBank campaign thru M&C Saatchi.

Andreas Wanda, founder/VFX supervisor at Atmos: “We developed a custom system to simulate and render hundreds of highly detailed CG cars with realistic suspension movement and natural interaction with the terrain. The team also overcame environmental challenges, seamlessly matching visuals across shifting weather conditions during the seven-day shoot.

“The campaign’s climax, featuring a massive split of thousands of cars choosing their own direction, relied on a procedural CG workflow to achieve both scale and believability to randomize color, model, and animation – maximizing visual variety with minimal performance cost.

“Working closely with ARC Edit, we collaborated on a streamlined compositing pipeline, with ARC’s team of artists handling all final composite work.”
