Framestore Crew Dive Back in With GEICO Gecko

Back in February 2006, the GEICO Gecko graced the cover of Stash 17 (a monthly DVD at the time), and represented a giant step forward for CG mascots, introducing an unforced charm that was as rare then as it is now.

That spot, called “Big News” (watch below) was directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck (Blades of Glory) thru Furlined and The Martin Agency, with the Gecko’s nuanced performance handled by the CG creature masters at Framestore CFC (as they were known at the time).

This latest spot called “Dive” (directed by Maggie Carey at Caviar), finds The Martin Agency and Framestore still partnered and taking on one of their most VFX-intensive adventures, showcasing the amphibious side of their reptilian hero.
