It’s safe to say Ronnie Koff is on a roll. Nominated for Outstanding Title Design Emmys the last four years running, the Imaginary Forces CD just completed work on this intricate single-shot open for Amazon’s Young Sherlock.
From Imaginary Forces: “This version of Holmes is younger, grittier, and far more willing to get his hands dirty. Our challenge was to create a sequence that honors the legacy, captures that vigor and intensity, and surprises the audience at every turn.
“To ground the titles in authenticity, we collaborated closely with showrunner Matthew Parkill and his team, who were deeply invested in every detail. We also traveled to set, explored the meticulously crafted props, and shot bespoke footage of the lead cast on location.
“Our challenge was to create a sequence that honors the legacy, captures that vigor and intensity, and surprises the audience at every turn.”
“That unprecedented access allowed us to weave the show’s tactile, eye-candy world into the sequence while connecting it with our own unexpected visual throughline.
“We approached the sequence as a single, continuous camera move. Transitions became our storytelling engine. We played with radical shifts in scale—macro to micro, large to small so that a detail transforms into an entirely new world.
“The result is a journey that feels distinct from the series yet inseparable from it. A fast-paced, richly layered investigation that captures the energy of a young Sherlock Holmes and invites the audience to step into the mystery with him.”
