Director/animator David Dutton, who’s 8-bit exploits include a Stranger Things recap, recruits several AI platforms to enhance live-action sequences and create “a celebration of positive change” for Julian Lennon’s “Lucky Ones”.

David Dutton: “The video is one of the first of its kind as we used Google Notebook Colab to write the AI code to the footage we shot and animated on green screen. The code and texted prompts were lines such as ‘evolve from fiery ashes to blooming flower fields’. We also used Stable Diffusion and Disco Diffusion.

“Julian and I wanted to make a visual piece that shows people from around the world gravitating toward each other in a celebration of change to make the world a better place. Besides everyone’s love for music (that naturally draws humans together), they also take small steps to improve our environment back to health.”
