SMOG Rescues a Boy Named Koo

When a client abandoned a recent project after months of work, directors/co-founders Moises Arancibia and Pablo Gonzalez at SMOG in Santiago, Chile, chose to complete the film – about a sweet, knowledge-hungry boy – on their own.

Moises Arancibia and Pablo Gonzalez: “This project was developed for an online education center, but towards the end of the process, the client decided to change the direction of their campaign.

“For two months, we worked on developing the storyline, designing the character, and integrating academic themes into three different worlds and we didn’t want to discard everything we had achieved up to that point. So, we decided to continue with Koo’s adventures on our own.

“Koo lacks motivation for the traditional way of learning in his school. He desires to learn through curiosity and creativity, which he discovers by embarking on various adventures as he explores the realms of mathematics, language, and coding.”
