The 16th season (!) of The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 with this showstopping trailer lead by Blinkink director Isabel Garrett who deploys a full range of food-based animation including stop-motion icing sugar.

From Blinkink: “Centered around ‘an aBakening’, the trailer reimagines the creation of the universe as an entirely baked paradise, where life itself rises from flour, sugar and butter thanks to a team of bakers and animators who used delicate 2D piped icing and intricate stop-motion animation to make something truly magical.

“At the heart of this enchanting world is a scene-stealing comeback: the now-legendary ‘penis snail’ from 2017’s Bread Week makes a triumphant return, this time reimagined as a stop-motion puppet.”
