London post/VFX house Black Kite and LA stop-motion studio Open the Portal build out a hybrid world for US healthcare consortium Kaiser Permanente in this jaunty spot by Riff Raff directing duo The Sacred Egg thru Droga5.
Underscored by the Gorillaz 2010 classic “On Melancholy Hill” and featuring characters designed by Manchester studio MacKinnon & Saunders, the film makes the case for bringing the separate parts of health care (doctors, insurance, and pharmacies) together as one team.
From Black Kite: “We created a CG city and environments alongside a host of elements including CG characters and clouds and dust, all to look like physical objects living seamlessly in our hospitalized hero’s stop-motion world.”
