Brut Works Opens “The Dark Wizard” Doc Series on HBO

Barcelona studio Brut Works, whose many styles of animation we track here, assembles the energetic yet unnerving titles for a new HBO doc series, all powered by a foreboding track from American composer Dan Deacon.

Martin Allé, CD at Brut Works: “The Dark Wizard is a four-part HBO documentary series about Dean Potter: climber, BASE jumper, highliner, and one of the most artistically complex figures in the history of extreme sports.

“Sender Films commissioned us to create the title sequence, intro, and series logo, the typographic identity of the show which was directed by Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen, and premiered at SXSW and launched on HBO and Max in April 2026.”
