João Vaz Oliveira Commits “Blasphemy” for New Moullinex △ GPU Panic Music Video

Motion designer/director João Vaz Oliveira teams with Lisbon animation house Dialogue to craft an atmospheric music video that transitions from 2D into 3D for “Blasphemy”, a track by Portuguese artists Moullinex and GPU Panic.

João Vaz Oliveira: “‘Blasphemy’ explores human relationships in the face of adversity, highlighting the challenge of truly surrendering to one another. The concept for the video was to metaphorically depict these relationships, where expectations are sometimes created, only to be deluded in the end.

“I’ve always loved music, and a year ago, the idea of making a music video was born. I met Moullinex during another personal project I worked on called ‘Block’ and reached out to him, challenging him to send me a song to work on.

“After listening to the music, the biggest challenge was how can I translate the sound into images while maintaining the narrative? Another significant challenge was assembling the team, working entirely remotely, and maintaining clear and productive communication/direction. It’s not easy to work remotely but we used Google Drive, and surprisingly, it went very well.”
