Zeeman “Don’t Get Blinded” Spot by Menno Fokma and Artbox

Hot on the heels of his frenetic streetwear spot for Adidas, Amsterdam director/digital artist Menno Fokma shifts gears for a fashion-forward sci-fi vibe in this virtual production mixing live-action and VFX for Dutch retailer Zeeman.

Menno Fokma: “The project is a new premium eyewear campaign for Zeeman, who are known for their low prices and outspoken commercials. The campaign is a statement against luxury brands that develop similar glasses for hundreds of euros.

“In the commercial, a group of nomads is being attacked by spaceships, representing luxury brands. People with sunglasses are protected while people without, the fashion victims, are being sucked into the ships. Hence the tagine ‘Don’t Be Blinded’ which in Dutch, serves as a reminder not to be dazzled.

“The film is shot in the studio using virtual production techniques, mostly in-camera. With lots of preparation on design and in Unreal Engine.”
