The CG mavens at someform Studio in Berlin and Panoply in London combine their design and technical talents on this launch film for a therapeutic boot designed by athletic performance recovery brand Hyperice in collaboration with Nike.
Matthias Winckelmann, CD at someform: “One of the core challenges in introducing the Hyperboot was communicating the product’s layered complexity. While it appears at first glance to be a piece of footwear, it’s fundamentally a high-tech recovery device — blending therapeutic technology with wearable design.
“In a very short 30 seconds, we set out to connect the legacy of the Normatec dynamic air compression technology with the reveal of the Hyperboot by taking a wild ride through a set of abstract vignettes centered around the features of both products.”

Simon Holmedal, director at Panoply: “The main technical challenge was ensuring the inflation of the internal compression sleeve looked realistic. While the sleeve was part of the simulation itself, it was the only element whose properties were dynamically updated based on the background data.
“It was wrapped with multiple layers of fabric, each with its own mass, stiffness, and constraints. Only the internal sleeve was directly influenced by the background animation, while the outer layers responded passively — creating natural folds, creases, and tension. This layering was crucial for realism, making the inflation feel grounded and believable.”
