The Future of Hope: The Furrow Releases “SENT” Short Film

Backed by a wistful score and careful sound design, CD Seth Eckert and the crew at The Furrow just released an in-house passion project about an engineer and her robot they describe as simply “a short film about hope”.

Seth Eckert: “This short film began as an internal research project for our core creative crew and focuses on a retired astronaut and engineer who, aware of imminent danger to our planet, develops a plan that she hopes will save humankind through a first contact mission to a solar system believed to have the potential for life.

“We narrowed the story to the most emotional part of the narrative: development of the robot and the hope that it would come to represent. We also chose to tell the story with only visuals and music, allowing viewers to experience and interpret the emotional journey themselves. The score was chosen to highlight the beauty in sorrow, reflecting a sense of present sadness while still having hope.”
