CD Heebok Lee and the GIANTSTEP 3D production crew team with the 2D animators at Studio Pivot in Seoul to spin up a light and breezy title sequence for the South Korean romantic comedy series Tastefully Yours.

Hyunji Yoon, art director at GIANTSTEP: “The title sequence for Tastefully Yours takes place entirely within a single miniature set of the restaurant Jeongje and captures the charming chaos of a day in this space.

“At the heart of the story are two characters with contrasting personalities and backgrounds. As they clash and collide throughout the day, they gradually learn to understand one another and find balance, a transformation that’s mirrored in the evolution of the space itself.
 

“We contrasted the precisely designed 3D environment with bold, exaggerated 2D animation to amplify the playful and romantic tone of the show.”

“Their movement drives the narrative, connects emotional beats, and brings energy and humor to each moment. Their interaction with the space also adds a layer of visual dynamism, showing how character and environment influence each other.

“To reflect the emotional arc of the drama in a compact structure, we framed the sequence around the passage of one day. The restaurant makes a full rotation from morning to night, symbolizing not just the flow of time, but the growth of both the characters and their relationship. The once chaotic and unrefined space becomes more composed and warm as their connection deepens.”
