Sekani Solomon, CD at the internal design studio of Block, Inc, delivers a calmly informative (and hunger-inducing) CG brand film for Neighborhoods, a new feature that connects the company’s Cash App and Square and ecosystems.
Sekani Solomon: “The primary challenge with crafting this film was the tight two-week deadline. We began with a general understanding of the value propositions and then developed a compelling story around them.
“This project was a true labor of love for me, supported by senior product designers who provided screen assets.”
“After turning in the creative treatment and a rough animatic in just two days for senior leadership approval, I focused on building out the various scenes and sequences I had envisioned.
“This would be a significant challenge as I needed to design several environments, and there were some sequences that involved intricate hand animation. Fortunately, we were able to repurpose some assets and art direction, such as the food elements, which I had previously worked on with Zachary Corzine for an earlier, shelved project.
“This project was a true labor of love for me, supported by senior product designers who provided screen assets. The talented team at Arc Labs then crafted a beautiful soundscape that truly brought the entire piece together.”
