Botanical Resonance: “Aether Scent” Short Film by Pleid St.

In their latest in-house motion project, Madrid CG design lab Pleid St. extends seven species of fauna beyond their natural boundaries into a poetic and mesmerizing visualization of scent.

Juanma Mota, CD at Pleid St.: Aether Scent is a studio exploration of nature through a digital lens. An imagined collection of botanical essences in which every specimen moves between the familiar and the unknown, retaining traces of its organic origin while growing into something new.

“The result is a botanical world in motion. A study of form, matter and transformation, and of how scent might be visualized rather than described.”

Each species begins in 3D, our natural playground. Shaped by hand through CG, it evolves through a process of observation, distortion and refinement, with AI extending the territory of what we could imagine and create.

The result is a botanical world in motion. A study of form, matter and transformation, and of how scent might be visualized rather than described. Petals crystallise, stems mutate and droplets become vessels. Nature is not replicated, but reimagined.

Developed slowly in the margins of our everyday practice, Aether Scent became a space for experimentation without a brief. A personal project shaped over time, driven by curiosity and the desire to explore new creative possibilities.
