Animwood Studio Tracks a Dollar’s Journey for Acumen

Good work for good causes is always a joy to post. Such is the case with this film from Animwood Studio in Kraków, Poland, showcasing the effects of a donation to Acumen, the US nonprofit targeting global poverty.

Rafał Blecharz, CD at Animwood: “This video follows the journey of a single donated dollar to Acumen, showing how individual contributions are combined and invested into the right people and communities working on long-term solutions to poverty.

“We brought subtle board game elements into the design, using a warm color palette and a cartoon style that respectfully represents characters of different nationalities and races.”

“The client wanted the animation to feel optimistic and forward-looking while highlighting that a single dollar becomes the first step on a path toward a thriving community.

“With this description in mind, we brought subtle board game elements into the design, using a warm color palette and a cartoon style that respectfully represents characters of different nationalities and races, while faithfully portraying the locations.

“We brought together all of our animation specialties: motion design, cel animation created in Animate, and cut-out animation created in MOHO. Everything was combined in After Effects, where we added subtle effects and textures, making sure the rhythm and feel matched what the client envisioned.”
