Milford Adds a Little Mystery to FuturePlay’s Merge Gardens

Danish animation director Kim Hagen Jensen and the Milford Animation team in Stockholm, conjure some fabulously freakish flora for the relaunch of FuturePlay’s free-to-play puzzle game Merge Gardens.

Milford EP Johan Gustafsson: “In a pursuit of originality that sets Futureplay’s advertising campaign apart from their competitors, Milford and our director, Kim Hagen-Jensen, departed from the common aesthetics typical in the genre of merge and match-3 puzzle games.

“Instead, we adopted a teaser-like style reminiscent of a premium animated feature, breaking up the trailer’s narrative into episodes, and strategically incorporating cliffhangers to enhance viewer engagement.

“The idea was to unveil new characters and game features in each episode, in line with what the player gets to experience as they progress further into the game’s narrative set in a mansion that has been forgotten for ages.”
