French electronic duo Cassius disbanded in 2019 after the death of co-founder Zdar, but the recent discovery of the unreleased track “Dance On” spawned this fully-mad animated romp by directing team Mrzyk & Moriceau.
As visually dense and inventive as any animated film you will ever witness, the film was produced thru DIVISION/Paris and builds on Petra Mrzyk and Jean-François Moriceau’s signature psycho-sexual 2D animation style by layering in stop-motion and vintage concert footage of Cassius (Zdar & Boombass) in action.
If you’re in the mood for more stream-of-consciousness animated chaos, we track Mrzyk & Moriceau’s work here.
