Soda Creative & Nacho Julian Fire Up Felix the Cat

Working thru LA agency Soda Creative, Buenos Aires designer/animator Nacho Julian updates the perennially cool Felix the Cat (107 years young and counting) in this sizzle reel for the IP’s current owners NBCUniversal.

Nacho Julian: “The core idea behind the sizzle reel is simple: Felix never left. Far from being just a nostalgic character, he remains present in contemporary visual culture — appearing on streets, stickers, apparel, collectibles, and creative expressions around the world.

“Felix has become a cultural icon that continues to evolve across generations.”

“Felix has become a cultural icon that continues to evolve across generations. For this reason, the piece embraces a bold urban aesthetic inspired by street art, graphic design, and modern apparel culture.

“The black, yellow, and red palette brings contrast, energy, and attitude, reinforcing the relevance of a character that still holds a place in today’s cultural landscape. Because true icons never go out of style.”
