The crew at Seoul branding and design studio VEIG wraps plenty of style and drama around the TENAYA PACK 45L lightweight backpack in this social video for US outdoor and camping gear brand Sierra Designs.
Jiwon Huh, CD at VEIG: “Our goal with this film wasn’t simply to showcase a backpack, it was to visualize the engineering philosophy behind one of Sierra Designs’ flagship packs.
“The main creative challenge was transforming highly technical product features into an emotional visual experience through movement, materiality, rhythm, and cinematic storytelling.
“An equally important challenge was the format itself. As a 30-second social media film, every frame needed to communicate product performance, brand identity, and emotion within an extremely limited amount of time.
“Every frame was designed to carry both engineering and emotion.”
“Instead of simply condensing a conventional product film, we designed each shot to serve multiple purposes, revealing the backpack’s construction, emphasizing its engineering, maintaining visual rhythm, and capturing the viewer’s attention.
Our goal was to create a complete brand experience, not just a product advertisement. We began by 3D-scanning the TENAYA PACK 45L, capturing its geometry, stitching, fabric tension, and structural details in very high detail.
“We also selectively incorporated AI-assisted VFX to create atmospheric environmental effects that would have been difficult or time-consuming to achieve using traditional workflows.
“By combining precise 3D scanning, a unified digital workflow, physically accurate CG, and carefully directed AI-assisted VFX, we transformed technical product information into an immersive cinematic experience. Every frame was designed to carry both engineering and emotion.”
