The Perlorian Brothers Bring a “Hair Ballad” to Super Bowl

Men’s grooming brand MANSCAPED makes their Super Bowl debut in style with a musical cast of hairballs lamenting untimely separation from their males – all courtesy of MJZ directors The Perlorian Brothers and agency Quality Meats.

Brian Siedband and Gordy Sang, CCO’s at Quality Meats: “In production, there was a lot of debate around how the puppets would come to life, with arguments for in-camera effects and VFX use being made.

“The contrast between the sincere dramatic cinematography with the lo-fi-ness of the puppets seemed to strike the best balance.”

“Ultimately the best stuff came from keeping as much in-camera as possible with a balance of designing them to look somewhat ‘realistic’ and grotesque but also lovable and empathetic.

“The contrast between the sincere dramatic cinematography with the lo-fi-ness of the puppets seemed to strike the best balance. We also learned that hairball monsters are pretentious prima donnas.”
