The team at Kreatives in Munich make their Stash debut with this playful launch film for New York biotech brand Mothership Materials, wrapping the science of microbes in frenetic, multi-technique motion design.
Tainá Ceccato designer/CD at Kreatives: “Microbe Munch produces sugar specifically designed to feed microbes that, in turn, generate materials for a wide range of industries including silk, leather and other alternative biomaterials.
“We created this video to introduce the product both to scientists working with microbes and to a broader audience. Our starting point was simple: these microbes create everything. So we did the same, developing a wide range of visual assets that reflect that diversity.
“Our goal was to balance scientific rigor with a sense of playful experimentation and wit.”
“One of the core creative principles of the project was each scene should combine two or more creative disciplines, as a way to visually express the wide range of applications made possible by this new product.
“Another challenge was addressing a very broad audience. The primary target was the biomaterials industry, with the first launch taking place during New York Climate Week. At the same time, the piece needed to resonate with a wider public and function effectively on social media.
“Our goal was to balance scientific rigor with a sense of playful experimentation and wit, and communicate the vast potential of Microbe Munch and its benefits to the market, while highlighting the innovation behind a product with the potential to disrupt an entire industry.”
