Tobias Szabo, AD/motion designer in Hamburg, Germany: “Three of my freelance friends (Andreas Böinghoff, Jan Elsner, and Lasse Lauch) and I were commissioned by Adidas Studio A to showcase the features of the Adidas Copa Sense 1 football shoe.

“‘Altering the laws of physics’ and ‘capturing reality in ways physically impossible’ were the two main guidelines we received when we started the project. So we came up with loads of R&D files that would explain the main features like absorption, close alignment, and close fit.

“We were provided with a beautiful 3D scan of the product as well as high res scan data from all the textures with everything created in Houdini and composed in After Effects it was a real treat to work on that clip.”
