BOL, Pràctica, and Device Brand the SPATIAL Festival

Standout branding work here from the all-Barcelona team of prodco BOL and studios Pràctica and Device for the Berlin-based SPATIAL Festival, a three-day celebration of immersive sound, art, and technology.

From the team at BOL: “SPATIAL is an audio-visual journey where Pràctica created the brand identity, motion graphics, and key visuals for the festival while Device created an immersive opening title consistent with the festival’s aim to erase the boundaries between art and the audience.

“The augmented sonic reality experience is captured in the visuals through an immersive identity that becomes a space in itself. It is not just a moving identity, it is an identity you can move in.
 

“Rather than a concrete story, Device’s aim was to create typographic compositions with carefully designed transitions and a digital style that evokes an organic and analog feel.”

 
“Device’s titles are centered around the use of space and time, utilizing typography and a black-and-white color palette as the sole elements. Their aim was to create an enthralling experience by combining hypnotic visuals with engaging music.

“The festival aims to offer a fresh music experience, and this concept was translated into the titles by incorporating a transformative and multidimensional atmosphere. Rather than a concrete story, Device’s aim was to create typographic compositions with carefully designed transitions and a digital style that evokes an organic and analog feel.

“Music and sound design were key to building this sonic journey, working to blur the line between visual and audio experience. The tone and mood of the music are dark and calm, emanating depth and dynamism, at the same time. Playing with many contrasting frequencies, linking them to the black-and-white aesthetics and incorporating crystalline tones for the transparent materials.”
