Cassette Tape Philosophy: Unwinding Life “Into Clarity”

The South Korean creative duo of 3D artist Seong Jae Hoon (aka Ticcle) and motion designer Jae Sung Kim (aka Motionkey) find life lessons in the structure and mechanics of a cassette tape in this carefully rendered personal work.

Seong Jae Hoon and Jae Sung Kim: “In this film, the journey of a tape becomes an allegory for human existence, from its careful assembly, to the moment it unfolds into society, through the inevitable entanglements, and finally toward a state of transcendence and self-hood.

“The narrative which has four parts: It assembles swiftly, its functions revealed in sharp, quick cuts, while strands unravel, twist, and collide. From within the dense tangle, one piece of tape rises and breaks free, tracing a passage from order, through chaos, toward clarity.
