FPA Wants You to Go “Shape Yourself”

Floating Point Art (aka FPA), the Taiwanese motion studio whose work we were pleased to feature in Stash 170 and Stash 164, just released a new in-house CG exercise inspired by the countless possibilities of quantum superposition.

From the team at FPA: “‘Shape yourself ‘ is a short film inspired by our brand’s ethos to break free from binary frameworks and extend infinite possibilities between 0 and 1. At the same time, it encourages roaming among extremes – from art and design to digital and physical, from the real to the abstract – to spark unique structures and ways of thinking.

“Through these creative choices, the film conveys the core idea that by transcending binary limits, everyone can shape a truly unique self.”

“To embody this concept, the film features a futuristic camera as its protagonist. Shaped like a 3.5-inch floppy disk — a symbol of the past digital era now given new life through future technology. It overcomes the traditional camera’s limitation of capturing only flat images by recording moments and motion in three-dimensional space, and the creative process in its entirety.

“Visually, the film is presented as a dynamic art installation, merging fashion-forward style, clean lines, and an experimental spirit. In terms of content, the continuous movements of objects like skateboards and rackets are broken down frame by frame, each motion trail suspended in space like a sculpture.

“This approach makes an invisible process tangible, symbolizing the quest to find new structures amid extremes and fleeting moments. Through these creative choices, the film conveys the core idea that by transcending binary limits, everyone can shape a truly unique self.”
