WIZZ directing collective Illogic, who just delivered this shiny holiday spot, switch styles completely in the new Christmas spectacular for French supermarket Intermarché, with live-action by DIVINE’s Nadège Loiseau thru Romance Paris.
From WIZZ: “Illogic opted for a visual style reminiscent of children’s book illustrations, bringing to life a charming gallery of characters, including the wolf, who is both endearing and funny.
“For the character designs, the directors turned to illustrator Wiebke Rauers. Her expressive style, paired with an artistic direction deliberately distinct from conventional norms, gives the film a strong graphic signature.”
“The idea was never to make the film completely realistic, but rather to keep the brushstroke spirit and spontaneity of the drawings.”
Illogic: “The idea was never to make the film completely realistic, but rather to keep the brushstroke spirit and spontaneity of the drawings, so the wolf has a naive charm in how he is represented, even in the final render. He’s not perfect, there are accidents and mistakes, but that’s what makes him a unique and beautiful character.
“For the food, we used the same approach, faithfully representing everything that makes a dish appetizing (the shine of the broth, the condensation droplets), while adding an artistic touch that makes the scene less realistic but just as delicious.”
