Polyester Leads with Character in New Manifesto

Jeremy Dimmock, CD/partner at Polyester in Toronto: “We wanted to create a story that communicates why characters are important. Something aspirational, optimistic, an anthem or manifesto for characters.

“We initially intended our character manifesto to work as a stand-alone story but as characters are the building blocks of what we do and what we love, we felt it would be perfect to combine our manifesto with our reel montage.

“With a new Identity, we built animated opening scenes around the studio logo mark so when viewed on our website the updated studio branding would come across quickly. Each of the opening scenes would have common colors to tie them together that were pulled from our website so the reel becomes a natural extension of the website it plays in.

“We love the tone and warmth of voice actor Darrel Brown and felt he would bring both gravitas and a sense of joy to guide the editors for cutting the reel. For music, we worked with long-time collaborator and composer Jeff Moberg.”

Jeff Moberg: “My approach for the reel was to craft a score that felt cinematic and that highlighted the narration while still leaving enough room in the mix for the sound design. When the script goes into what characters do for stories and projects, I wanted the score to really kick in and drive us to the end of the reel.”
