POSCO “Iron Civilization” Interactive 360 Installation by Giantstep

Giantstep in Seoul, South Korea: “Iron Civilization is a 360 interactive video experience for Park1538, a new cultural space celebrating the past, present, and future of Korea-based steel-manufacturing company POSCO.

“Standing 60 feet wide and 30 feet tall, the immersive space combines LEDs, projection mapping, tracking light, and 7.1-channel stereoscopic sound.

“The experience takes visitors on an eight-minute interactive journey through the ‘iron process’ within four themes: Birth of Iron Ore, Iron Discovery, Iron Prosperity, and Iron with Mankind.”

“By viewing the visitor as a source of energy, graphic particles are generated under the feet in real-time according to the visitor’s movement, and the particles flow into the LED tower shaped like iron, allowing you to experience the iron refining process’ naturally.

“Based on Giantstep’s graphic production technology, we have gone through many R&D processes to realize an overwhelming sense of immersion in surround content, taking into account the characteristics of a 360-degree space.

“Real-time engine technology was applied to test simulations of high-resolution graphics over 10K, and through the process, interactive realistic content was presented so that advanced VFX effects can lead to real-time reactions with the audience.”
