The Stockholm branch of Uncommon Creative wrangles seven directors and prodco’s into an epic eight-minute exquisite corpse-style short film for Supercell’s Clash Royale that includes CG, stop-motion, 2D animation, and VFX segments.
Max Hultberg, ECD at Uncommon Stockholm: “We set out to create a never-ending fight scene. To make it happen we collaborated with seven production companies in parallel. Each was tasked with crafting their own segment of the film, without knowing what the others were making.
“This is a celebration of craft. No AI has been used, just creative minds collaborating under one very simple premise.”
“They only received the characters they needed to feature, how their scene should begin, and a transition that would connect to the next director’s scene. This resulted in a diverse mix of styles, ranging from heavy-metal stop motion and 80s live-action dark fantasy to 90s toy commercials and a blockbuster-style fantasy that turns into a food fight.
“This is a celebration of craft. No AI has been used, just creative minds collaborating under one very simple premise. We wanted to create something the community would love, but also something that could introduce new players to Clash Royale.”
