Best of Stash 2025: Advertising!

Filtering out the best from the torrent of worldwide commercial advertising is a definite slog but ultimately worthwhile because hidden in that relentless flow of mediocrity you will find motion gems worth snatching and savoring.

All these films were published in The Stash Permanent Collection during 2025 and are listed here in reverse chronological order by their issue of publication.

SKODA “VISION O REVEAL”

Issue: Stash 174

Alex Topaller and Dan Shapiro, directors/founders at Aggressive in Ridgewood, NJ: “Skoda asked us to capture their design philosophy, that form and function are inseparable, and that every detail of the car begins with people.

“They wanted a film that felt cinematic, design-driven, and emotionally grounded. A concept car launch that blends motion typography, real voices, and striking visuals to express that dialogue between humanity and future technology.”

COINBASE “THE SYSTEM IS UPDATED”

Issue: STASH 172
Also featured in the Stash Annual 2025

Daniel Oeffinger, group creative director at Buck in Brooklyn, NY: “We worked with agency Isle of Any to create an anthem film for Coinbase that would catch attention and stand apart from traditional media broadcast spots.

“The creative jumping off point was inspired by the ‘blue screen of death’, a reset that would set the stage for a new Coinbase-led world entirely built from code.”

CHIVAS REGAL “REGALITY RISES”

Issue: STASH 171
Featured on the cover of the Stash Annual 2025

CD Rimantas Lukavicius at KORB: “The agency team at We Say Hi approached us with an exciting challenge: to create a series of CGI shots bringing luxury, elegance, and sophistication to life that seamlessly blended with live action footage shot by the amazing director/photographer Rankin.

“Our role was to craft key CGI elements, including the peacock, butterflies, dynamic liquid simulations, and photo-real product shots.”

MOET & CHANDON “COLLECTION IMPERIALE”

Issue: STASH 170
Also featured in the Stash Annual 2025

Erwin Charrier, director at Pleix in Paris: “Moët & Chandon tasked us with translating the concept of ‘Haute Œnologie’ into a 30-second journey.

“Drawing inspiration from the refined elegance of high fashion jewelry, we envisioned luxurious, microscopic worlds where dancing bubbles transform into crystalline forms, ultimately revealing the iconic bottle and celebrating the spirit of the Collection Impériale.”

OPENAI “THE INTELLIGENCE AGE”

Issue: STASH 169
Also featured in the Stash Annual 2025

OpenAI debuted its first TV spot at Super Bowl LIX exploring the possibilities of AI with this motion work by Builders Club and agency Accenture Song.

From Accenture Song: “Using a pointillism-inspired animation, a core part of OpenAI’s brand identity system and the ChatGPT interface, the film transforms abstract dots into moving iconography to illustrate the various discovery milestones in human progress until now – with AI and the Intelligence Age.”

ACURA “SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Issue: STASH 169
Also featured in the Stash Annual 2025

Shane Griffin, Director at GRIF studio in New York: “The agency MullenLowe approached us with an ambitious idea to craft a journey for the new Acura ADX through multiple surrealist worlds, each one reflecting a selling point of the car, referencing Culture, Fun, Technology, and Performance.

“Each world had its unique mood and treatment of the car, so from a motion design perspective this was a great challenge and required us to think about unique lighting, movements, FX, and environments for each section, while also having that cohesively sit together as a final piece with a distinct color palette.”

SQUARESPACE “THE ART OF INFLATION”

Issue: STASH 169
Also featured in the Stash Annual 2025

ManvsMachine’s visual adventures with website building platform Squarespace continue with a masterclass in shiny pneumatics touting the brand’s collaboration with artist Jeff Koons.

From the team at MvsM: “The brief was very concise; dive into the mind of Jeff Koons. Following a re-imagined awakening of his most iconic balloon sculptures, enjoy their complex affirming reflections, as we breathe life into these contemporary monoliths.”
