Watch “Jour de Vent”, the Multi-Award Grad Film By Six Students at École des Nouvelles Images

Wonderfully relatable characters bound together by interwoven narratives, gentle humor, and a sense of poetry make the student short film Jour de Vent (Windy Day) a nice break from our usual diet of brand-driven work.

Directors Martin Chailloux, Ai Kim Crespin, Elise Golfouse, Chloé Lab, Hugo Taillez, Camille Truding at École des Nouvelles Images in Avignon, France: “All six of us were students in the same class. Some of us had already worked together and were already friends, so we decided to form a team for our graduation film.

“We gathered around the desire to make a poetic film, as well as a 2D rendering close to that of a graphic novel.”

“We created a story that represents each of us, but one that also touches as many people as possible, speaking of family, love, death, work and so on. To ensure that the film speaks to everyone, we created a multitude of characters, all different.

“We gathered around the desire to make a poetic film, as well as a 2D rendering close to that of a graphic novel. Our respective technical skills complemented each other very well, and everyone was able to find their place within the team.

“The year’s work went off without any internal conflicts, and we managed to come up with a common vision and stick to it. The team stayed together, and we’re very happy and proud of the result.”
