Art Worlds Collide in Martynas Genkovas Short “Inspired by”

3D artist Martynas Genkovas just dropped us his new personal short film called Inspired by, an enigmatic collision of his architectural photography and ink-on-paper artwork with organic layers of crystalline 3D.

Martynas Genkovas in Vilnius, Lithuania: “The animation serves as a visual dialogue between two realms: city monuments representing reality, and paintings that embody the imagination.

“To achieve a seamless visual experience, I primarily utilized camera projection techniques, integrating CG elements and rendering the entire composition as a whole.”

“The journey begins with scenes of Paris photography, which are gradually overtaken by ink drawing textures and fluid watercolor strokes, while transparent glass shapes act as lenses that reveal surreal fragments of a dreamlike castle.

“To achieve a seamless visual experience, I primarily utilized camera projection techniques, integrating CG elements and rendering the entire composition as a whole. This approach allowed for highly realistic reflections and refractions. I also replaced traditional museum sculptures with AI-generated forms developed from my own reference images.”
