Isabel Garrett & Blinkink Paint the Town for Loewe’s 180th

Working with illustrator/artist Joanna Blémont, director Isabel Garrett and the Blinkink animation team break out the acrylics and oil sticks in 2,000 frames of hand-rendered love for the venerable luxury label Loewe.

From Blinkink: “Created in celebration of Loewe’s 180th anniversary with narration by Antonio Banderas, the campaign charts one of fashion’s most storied legacies with boundless imagination and an uncompromising commitment to craft.

“The film operates as a continuous loop which honors Loewe’s philosophy that creativity does not end, it renews.”

“Rather than a conventional retrospective, the film operates as a continuous loop which honors Loewe’s philosophy that creativity does not end, it renews. The concept of 180 is not a full stop, but a turning point.

“For director Isabel Garrett, the project is a deeply personal one. A long-time admirer of both Loewe and Blémont, Garrett brings to the film a talent for building intricate, atmospheric worlds that feel at once surreal and warmly human.

“Every frame was crafted in a process as painstaking as it is beautiful with a team of 10 painters. To manage the scale of the project, we developed techniques such as painting in layers while maintaining the integrity of the hand-made animation with as little digital intervention as possible.”
