Oddfellows Warm Up Harvey II Launch With Pencil & Paper

It’s hard to think of a business category more detached than legal AI but this textured and tactile treatment from the design crew at Oddfellows in Portland for the launch Harvey II layers humanity onto the legal intelligence.

From Oddfellows: Harvey II technology is sophisticated, but we wanted the film to feel grounded in the world it was built for. Rather than lean into the cold, metallic visual language often associated with legal AI, we started somewhere more familiar: pencil to paper.

“Rather than lean into the cold, metallic visual language often associated with legal AI, we started somewhere more familiar: pencil to paper.”

That idea became the foundation for a visual system built around marks, language, documents, and ideas taking shape. A tactile expression of intelligence that remembers context, builds on what came before, and works more like the people using it.

From first creative territories and script development through design, animation, and final delivery, the entire piece came together in roughly a month, working closely with Harvey’s internal team.
