New Ruffmercy Film Roughs Up Elektron’s Analog Heat +FX Box

Few motion artists have a style as distinctive as Ruffmercy and in a time when design often feels homogenous, new work from the UK director/animator – such as this film for Swedish musical instrument developer Elektron – is a refreshing thing.

Ruffmercy (aka Russ Murphy): “Magnus Almberg the CD at Elektron approached me on Instagram about helping them launch their new Analog Heat +FX analog and digital dynamic sound processor. The idea behind the product is that it’s a coloring box of tricks you manipulate to make audio magic happen.

“They were after a launch film that showed how crazy and colorful you can go when you start to play with it. Purposefully designed as a B&W product the color comes from your interaction with its various functions.

“Alongside the launch film, I also created imagery for the box design which is included as a poster alongside the product. The Elektron team is super passionate and creative in what they do so it was definitely a no-brainer for me to take on the project. The film also includes photos by Magnus.”
