SMOG Reveals the Devilish Details Behind the Legend of Casillero del Diablo

Very befitting a Halloween post, CD Moises Arancibia and the animation team at SMOG in Santiago, Chile, just dropped us their new film recounting the spooky origin story of Concha y Toro’s best-selling wine Casillero del Diablo.

Moises Arancibia: “Casillero del Diablo, Chile’s most iconic wine, continues to captivate visitors from around the world. Every year, thousands come to the vineyard to discover the origins of the wine and the enduring legend behind its mythical brand.

“The project evolved into a fully realized animated short film, a cinematic reinterpretation of the folk tale that has defined the brand’s mystique for generations.”

“This year marked the opening of a new museum, serving as a prelude to the historic cellars where the legend was born. As part of this launch, SMOG was commissioned to create a film introducing the story behind Casillero del Diablo.

“The project evolved into a fully realized animated short film, a cinematic reinterpretation of the folk tale that has defined the brand’s mystique for generations. The short has been officially selected at numerous international festivals, including a nomination at the prestigious Annecy Festival 2025.”
