Le truc Exhibits the Custom Sneaker Art of Jamaivu

The design and motion crew at Geneva-based CG studio le truc ventures into the rarefied air of the ultra-exclusive sneaker market with this film for Swiss brand Jamaivu and their bespoke footwear sculptures for the very well-heeled.

Romain Delaunay, director at le truc: “Jamaivu just launched, and we helped them kick things off with our film at the Top Marques Monaco auto shoe earlier this month. The company creates one-of-a-kind shoes — each pair is made to order, and clients get to choose everything: the leathers, the metal details, even the case the shoes come in.

“What’s really cool is that a lot of their clients are vintage car lovers who want shoes that match their cars. And it makes sense — both founders are passionate about classic cars themselves, so that design influence runs deep in everything they do.

“While we considered 3D scanning, it didn’t deliver the level of detail we needed. So, we rebuilt the shoe entirely in 3D and used high-resolution photography to faithfully capture each material’s depth and feel.”

“We approached this film with the same care and precision that define Jamaivu — drawing inspiration from 70s design and vintage automotive culture. Like the finely tuned cars that inspired it, every detail was crafted to reflect the brand’s personality and craftsmanship.

“Our main creative challenge was fitting a wide range of elements — cases, different shoe finishes, and metallic parts — into a fast-paced 20-second film. To keep the focus sharp, we chose a clean, minimal background, allowing the shoe to take center stage in every frame. We wanted the textures, colors, and finishes to be instantly clear and visually striking.

“The technical challenge was accurately recreating materials like patinated leather and other rich textures. While we considered 3D scanning, it didn’t deliver the level of detail we needed. So, we rebuilt the shoe entirely in 3D and used high-resolution photography to faithfully capture each material’s depth and feel.”
