New projects from London’s Dog & Rabbit are always a fun trip into eccentric hand-made irreverence (see here and here) and this new episode of their cult hit Dog Judo is certainly no exception.
Andrew Kelleher and Dave Anderson, directors at Dog & Rabbit: Dog Judo started in 2004 as part of a campaign for Virgin Media to advertise their camera phones – it took off nicely, getting millions of views and were then given the IP to continue making them as we pleased.

We chop up our real photographs of dogs in Photoshop and make them move in After Effects. There is a quick and not particularly insightful ‘behind-the-scenes’ video at the end of this episode.
We have also been utilizing the new 3D capabilities of After Effects, and mixing 3D and 2D characters and props. Brooks Rokkit is animated in 3D inside After Effects, with various parts imported from Blender.
