Blinkink Gets Fuzzy at a Cabin in the Woods For Levi’s

Blinkink directing duo Stevie Gee and Essy May, whose many animated talents we track here, just dropped this stop-motion holiday spot highlighting the Yeti-calming powers of Levi’s sweaters (complete with BTS video).

Stevie & Essy: Never have we ever had so much creative freedom from the start of a commercial project. We wrote 14 different scripts before landing the final concept, and then further developed that story together with Levi’s.

Let’s Get Fuzzy felt like a wild card option, but we were thrilled it was the one that got chosen. We are both massive horror fans so it was a real treat to really push the genre in the final film.

“Over six and a half weeks, a six-person build team spent more than 2,000 hours crafting and painting the sets, including three cabins at different scales and 400 individually made miniature trees.”

Bringing the miniature world to life was a meticulous undertaking. Over six and a half weeks, a six-person build team spent more than 2,000 hours crafting and painting the sets, including three cabins at different scales and 400 individually made miniature trees.

Animator Andy Biddle: We also made a point of touching the beautifully made miniature clothes in every frame. This created a constantly shifting, lively quality in the clothes (and hair) which in the industry, we call boiling. This helped push the idea of Let’s Get Fuzzy and gave the animation a more tactile, handmade feel.
