DixonBaxi Lead ADC in the Search for What’s Next

Art Directors Club, the planet’s longest continuously running creative awards program, refuses to act its age in this joyfully anarchic launch campaign for their 106th (!) edition via the motion crew at DixonBaxi in London.

From DixonBaxi: ADC has spent more than a century recognizing creative work that moves its disciplines forward. Its Cube has become an enduring symbol of that standard, awarded to work across design, advertising, film, photography, illustration, typography, gaming, AI and emerging creative disciplines.

Rather than treating the Cube as a static symbol of achievement, we made it the point from which everything else erupts. Across the campaign, the Cube stretches, fractures, multiplies and misbehaves. Colors clash, ideas fire, type flips from delicate to feral. The work pulls apart before finding new tension.

“The result is restless, elastic and alive, a visceral expression of ADC’s search for what’s next.”

The campaign turns a symbol of achievement into an invitation to discover the unusual, the extraordinary, and an expression of the raw instinct, friction and exhilaration of creativity itself. Championing the pioneers, the misfits and the minds that refuse to settle for what already exists.

The result is restless, elastic and alive, a visceral expression of ADC’s search for what’s next. A visual language built around the reality of creativity itself: experimentation and instinct, friction and flow, wrong turns and unexpected breakthroughs, the exhilaration of discovery, the quiet and the unruly, and the refusal to sit still.

We partnered with Zelig on the campaign’s sound design, creating a bespoke sonic world that gives another dimension to the search, capturing its nerve, heat, flow and friction.
