Sava Živković, the Belgrade-based director whose prodigious talents for apocalyptic world-building we’ve documented here, here, and here, just dropped the first chapter of a new dark and deadly vision, complete with a full BTS guided tour.

Sava Živković: “I created NIMROD because I wanted to go back to my roots and do the work itself, I wanted to create something again with my own hands. I also created this film because I got bored one day and I wanted to do something fun.

“It all came from the desire to not overthink what this project could be, and to just enjoy the process itself, working with my friends, and creating something out of nothing. It was only after the first cut was assembled that the larger story and what this world could be revealed itself to me.

“As far as technical challenges, luckily there were not too many, we used our tested and proven Unreal Engine pipeline for the film and it worked like a charm, allowing us to breeze through shot production.

“The only hurdle was the custom crowd setup which proved difficult initially, until Ryan Daly joined the team as UE Crowd TD and created a setup within UE Blueprints which allowed us to work to scale without impacting performance.”
